A Current WIP
So last weekend I played the first two acts of Kentucky Route Zero. Beautiful game! Part of the beauty comes from the minimalist art style-- everything is depicted using simple, vertex-colored 3D objects with clever lighting and composition. But I, being enamored with this game and the art, couldn't get out of my head what I thought the main character, Conway, looks like. So I made this sculpt:

I'm still kicking.
Hey there, Bloggy. How've you been? Sorry I've kinda been neglecting you these last several months. I'll be updating you again really soon. It's just that October is a really busy month, you know?
In the meantime, I'll leave you with this:
I recently shifted my portfolio site to a new host, at Dunked.com. Cool folks, easy to navigate, works with pretty much any device, and is super fast (and cheap).
Also, I recently finished a character model, designed by Dave Lopez:

Fermentatron! Or, How I Learned To Stop Talking About It and Just Make A Damned Game Already!
So towards the end of last year, my buddy Kyle and I got together to make something in Unity. That something is still on its way. But as a lead up to that (my current) project, Kyle and I joined forces to make Fermentatron with the talented Ben Crossbones on audio.

Attack of the Walama
So today, I discovered this time-sink/website, The Useless Web, a web portal to a bunch of useless websites. One of those sites, however, was not so useless: the glorious Walama. I immediately felt the need to sculpt this creepy/cute dude out, if for anything, than just to get away from the slump I've been in lately.
Hope you enjoy it.

OctoGuy! ZBrush Quick Sculpt
I'm alive! So is this speed-sculpt!
I dunno-- 40 minutes, maybe? ZBrush was giving me grief; hanging and doing something wonky with Smart ReSym. Thus, no shot of his right side. It wasn't pretty.
Let me know what you think. I have a couple ideas for cartoony octopus guys I might explore in the near future.

Scott Campbell's Philosopher! IN THREEE DEEEEEE!
So things were a bit slow at work this week, and I've had a hankering to do a low poly, hand-painted character for a while now. Being a huge Scott C. fan, I found myself doing a speed model of his character, the Philosopher.

My Latest Efforts
I've been sort of MIA lately, and that's because I've been plugging away at this new character model in my spare time. Have a look and let me know what you think!
More after the jump.

Poor Decisions in Music, March 2012
I've been making some pretty bad decisions in my musical choices lately. The most recent: Gotye's Making Mirrors. Aside from the fantastic gem that is Somebody That I Used To Know, and the couple songs before it in the tracklist, the album quickly devolves into a "Peter Gabriel and Sting aren't so much influences as they are direct sources" fare.
